Dear Parent/Carers,

New Headteacher

I am very pleased to inform you that the governors have appointed a new Head teacher, Mr Bruce Roberts.  Mr Roberts will take up the appointment on the 1st January 2016.  Mr Roberts has a clear vision to lead the school from the last inspection report from “Good” to “Outstanding” in the coming years.

Mr Roberts is delighted to have been appointed as the new Head teacher for Belmont Park School and is looking forward to working closely with staff, pupils, governors, parents and the community.

We look forward to welcoming Mr Roberts and he will continue to work with me in the coming weeks to ensure a smooth transition into the school and opportunity will be given to parents to meet with him.

I would also like to mention that I will be leaving on the 18th December 2015 and will be the new Head teacher for William Morris School which is under the Hornbeam Academy.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the support you have given me and the staff at the school over the years.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish Mr Roberts, staff and pupils every success for the future.

Yours sincerely

Maddy Reina

Interim Headteacher

Belmont Park School is a special school for students with challenging behaviour.

We have 60 students at Belmont Park. Most students are from Waltham Forest. Three quarters of our students are boys.

We had an excellent Ofsted Inspection in June 2011 in which we were judged to be good with outstanding features.

We run 7 GCSE classes in English, Maths, ICT, Religious Education, Science, Sports, and Art and Design. Students can also gain qualifications in car mechanics and construction.

Students are taught in small classes. Each student belongs to a class which has a maximum of 7 students, a Tutor and a Mentor

We aim to create an environment in which staff and students enjoy teaching and learning and where there are good progression opportunities to College and other work-related learning.

Our school day begins at 8:45 am and ends for students at 2:45pm. However, students can come into School for Breakfast Club at 8.15am each day and stay for the after school club until 4pm.

Students also have “breakfast” with their Tutor Group from 9:35 to 9:55. This is a social activity where we encourage students to develop their social skills.
